Connecticut Light has almost doubled its tree trimmingbudget, spending about $50 million to cut vegetation clear ofpower lines this year, up from $27 million a year earlier,Theresa Gilbert, a spokeswoman for the Berlin, Connecticut-basedutility, said in a telephone interview.
