Abstract:

A series of mixtures of N-butyl cyanoacrylate and 2-octyl-cyanoacrylate monomers having specific and differing concentrations of free radical inhibitor/antioxidant stabilizers for each mixture of the two monomers. This results in cyanoacrylate compositions that can withstand radiation such as E-beam and gamma radiation at any desired level and not be adversely affected.

Abstract:

PBX compositions and methods for fabricating PBX compositions are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a PBX composition comprises a binder matrix comprising a thermoset resin and an oxidizer comprising octanitrocubane (ONC), the oxidizer homogeneously dispersed within the binder matrix. In another embodiment, a method for fabricating a PBX composition comprises providing an oxidizer comprising octanitrocubane (ONC) and blending the oxidizer with a prepolymer that, upon cure, forms a thermoset resin.

Explosive devices, and in particular cluster explosively-formed penetrator warhead devices, are described herein. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, a spherically-shaped explosive device comprises an initiator, a fuze component system configured to ignite the initiator, and a substantially spherical explosive charge surrounding the initiator. A vehicle mounted mobile transceiver (11) communicates via a secondary mobile unit (51) with a short range portable unit (10). The portable unit (10) can be either a cordless microphone or a transceiver. The portable unit (10) allows a remotely positioned operator to transmit messages to a base station (13). Abstract:

An effector health monitor system is configured for coupling with an energetic component. The effector health monitor system includes a characteristic sensor suite including at least first and second characteristic sensors. The first characteristic sensor is proximate to the energetic component and configured to measure a failure characteristic of the energetic component. The second characteristic sensor is configured to measure at least one environmental characteristic proximate to the energetic component. A communication hub is coupled with the first and second characteristic sensors, and is configured to communicate the measured failure and environmental characteristics outside of an effector body. A failure identification module compares the measured failure characteristic with a failure threshold and identifies a failure event. A failure model generation module logs the at least one measured environmental characteristic preceding the identified failure event with the identified failure event and generates a failure model including updating the failure model.
