The subject invention finds utility in the area of gene therapy of diseases. More specifically, the invention concerns the making of a novel non-viral vector which can bind to desired DNA to form a combination useful to transfect diseased mitochondria of human or animal cells. The non-viral vector comprises a dequalinium salt subjected to standard liposome production procedures to obtain the vector named DQAsomes.

Abstract:

A flotation device designed to support a person in a partially submerged position in a body of water includes a long narrow flexible main body member made of buoyant closed cell foam material. A first cylindrical float section, made of the same material, is attached to one end of the main body member. A second cylindrical section, also made of the same buoyant material, has a slot in it and slides over the second end of the main body member to frictionally engage the main body member to locate the second float section at various positions between the first and second ends of the main body member.

Abstract:

An improved barrel clamp assembly for a multi-barreled minigun includes a barrel clamp tube having a front end, a rear end, and a plurality of longitudinal openings extending along a portion the length of the tube between the front end and the rear end. An impeller is mounted in the barrel clamp tube between the tube front end and the tube rear end. The impeller includes a plurality of impeller blades that are spaced around a periphery of the impeller and that project forward from a rear flange portion of the impeller and the impeller blades define a plurality of air channels. A barrel assembly includes the barrel clamp tube, a flash suppressor mounted to the front end of the barrel clamp tube, and a barrel clamp collar mounted to the rear end of the barrel clamp tube. The impeller is mounted to the barrel clamp tube between the flash suppressor and the barrel clamp collar.

Abstract:

A delinking feeder of a minigun includes an access door mounted to a delinking feeder housing and movable between a closed position and an open position. The access door has an enclosed recess for receiving a tongue that is rotationally coupled to the access door and is movable between a retracted position and a deployed position. When the access door is in the open position, the tongue is in the deployed position and a tongue first contact surface can contact and secure a linked cartridge positioned in the delinking feeder. When the access door is in the closed position, the tongue is in the retracted position and a tongue second contact surface can contact and guide a cartridge positioned in the delinking feeder. The enclosed recess is covered so that when the access door is in the closed position, the tongue does not protrude through the access door.
