Abstract:

A tank to header attachment construction for heat exchangers include T-shaped tabs on the header which extend through slots in a flange on a tank. The top bar of each tab has it ends bent out of alignment with the slot to secure the tank to the header.

Abstract:

The present invention provides, among other things, a heat exchanger including a plurality of tubes providing a flow path for a first fluid, a fin supported between two of the plurality of tubes and positioned along a flow path for a second fluid. Together, the fin and the plurality of tubes at least partially define a heat exchanger core. The heat exchanger can also include first and second tanks positioned adjacent to opposite ends of the plurality of tubes and an elastically deformable side part extending across the heat exchanger core and including a pair of integrally formed caps for closing openings in the first and second tanks.

Abstract:

A header for a heat exchanger includes a first and a second cylindrical fluid manifold extending in parallel. Each of the first and second manifolds have tube slots that extend through an arcuate wall section of the manifold. A thickened wall section of the header having a generally triangular wall section is bounded by the first and second fluid manifolds and by a planar outer surface of the header. An aperture extends through the thickened wall section to provide a fluid communication pathway between the first and second cylindrical fluid manifolds.
