Abstract:A fountain apparatus for producing fountain dispersal streams emitted in parallel laminar relation, said apparatus including at least one nozzle comprising an outer tubular member and at least one other tubular member mounted inside thereof and wherein all of said tubular members are disposed with their longitudinal axes in parallel relation whereby their dispersal streams are in substantially parallel relation to one another when emitted, valve means for controlling the flow of liquid to each said nozzle, said valve means each having an inlet adapted for connection in fluid communication with a source of liquid under pressure and having valve outlet means comprising at least a pair of outlets, conduit means for connecting each of said valve outlets with a different one of the nozzle tubular member inlets, and means for operating said plurality of valve means to selectively control the degree of fluid communication between each of said valve outlets and said conduit means whereby when said valve inlet means are connected in fluid communication with a source of liquid under pressure, the plurality of valve means may be actuated to control the movements of the fountain dispersal streams.

Abstract:A spinning fountain display comprising a rotatable object and means for rotating the object in either direction about an axis of rotation A plurality of nozzles open at the periphery of the object and are provided by a plurality of feeder passages which form single entry nozzles and/or feeder passages which form dual entry nozzles or multi-entry nozzles. The nozzle forming passages are connected as parts of a conduit system which is provided with valve means for selectively connecting the passages and the nozzles formed thereby to a pressurized source of a liquid medium for generating fountain dispersal streams therefrom, which streams are controllable in magnitude and direction whereby said object may be spun in a selected direction of rotation about the axis of rotation and at a selectively controlled speed and which direction may be reversed at any time by manual or electrical operation of said valve means to provide an aesthetically pleasing and entertaining fountain display.

Abstract:A buoyant aquatic recliner device (10) comprised of a plurality of body supporting sections (11,12,13) flexibly interconnected and adapted to support a person reclined thereon. One body supporting section (11) supports the torso of the reclined person, a second section (12) supports the thighs and a third section (13) supports the lower legs. Each body supporting section comprises a pair of linear side members (21-26) of substantially equal length interconnected by pliant spacer members (30) which maintain the paired side members substantially parallel and in symmetrical relation about the longitudinal axis of the device. At least one flotation member (60) is affixed to each side member of the body supporting sections and is adjustably positioning thereon along the length of the side member to adjust the relative angles of inclination of adjoining body supporting sections to achieve a preferred body position. The number of flotation devices (60) for each body supporting section (11,12,13) may be selectively increased or decreased to control the level of submergence of each section.

The valve includes a valve body having two or more outlets (71A, 71B, 72A, 72B), each connected by a conduit (71C, 71D, 71E, 71F) to deliver liquid to one or more single entry or multiple entry nozzles (73, 74), and a hollow valve element (46A) provided with two or more lateral openings (67-69) and an inlet port (66) connected to receive the circulating fountain liquid for transmission through said lateral openings. Reversible drive motors (56, 65) in drive connection with the valve element are adapted to impart linear axial movement and reversible axial rotation of the valve element to periodically position the valve element lateral openings in communication with the valve outlets to control the distribution of liquid to the nozzles. Each valve element opening is provided a size and shape which interacts with a valve body outlet or aligned pairs of valve body outlets to vary the timing and volume of liquid delivered to one or more entry ports of a nozzle or an array of nozzles and thereby control the output and movement of a nozzle dispersal stream and its interaction with other nozzle dispersal streams.

Abstract:An inflatable aquatic device suitable for supporting a person in reclined position thereon when inflated. The device comprises at least one pair of elongated inflatable tubular members 61, 62 of substantially equal length and configuration which are interconnected by pliant spacer members 63 for maintaining the inflatable tubular members in spaced relationship, substantially symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the device, and for providing, with said inflatable tubular member, a support wherein the person's body is supported with a substantially minimal areal contact with the spacer members. The aquatic device is comprised of sections which are flexible connected at their adjoining ends and adapted to support the lower legs, thighs, and torso of the person reclined thereon. A conduit 65 in fluid communication with the inflatable members and a valve 68 installed in the conduit provide a means controllable by a person reclined on the device for adjusting the level of buoyancy and the depth of submersion of said different sections of the device and their relative angles of inclination to assume a preferred position suitable for rest or as an initial position for exercise.
