Abstract:
An on-demand cooking apparatus for use with a cooking device having a housing, a fuel supply assembly, and a burner assembly mounted in the housing and operatively connected to the fuel supply assembly to emit fuel. An igniter operatively connects to the burner assembly to ignite the fuel into a flame, and an activation assembly operatively connects to the burner assembly, the fuel supply assembly, and the igniter. The activation assembly engages the cooking device when the cooking device is positioned in a first position relative to the burner assembly. The cooking device can be moved for movement of the activation assembly to allow flow of fuel from the fuel supply assembly to the burner assembly, and the activation assembly signals the igniter to ignite the fuel into a flame.
A furnace utilizing, in the upper portion of its cabinet, a blower acting downward through a separator opening to circulate room air past a combustion chamber whose gases flow upward through a sideward-positioned board radiator member which reaches up to the flue. A substantial increase in efficiency results from drawing the combustion gases out of the combustion chamber at the side opposite to the lower end of the broad radiator member, and interposing therebetween, directly beneath the separator opening, a plurality of tubes which serve as an intermediate heat exchanger. A still greater increase in efficiency is achieved by utilizing, instead, a finned tube heat exchanger across and beneath said separator opening; its heat transfer may be so great as to result in condensation of water vapor in the combustion gas. To purge this, a motorized inducer-blower is used in the inlet air system, driving the condensate through the finned tube heat exchanger to an appropriate drain.

Abstract:
A forced air, wall heater includes a heat exchanger which has a plurality of tubes. Each of the tubes include substantially parallel aligned runs and at least one return section between adjacent runs. The return section is aligned generally perpendicular with each of the plurality of runs. The heater also includes a blower positioned for blowing air directly toward the return section to maximize the mass flow rate of air over the return section. At least two of the runs are offset both laterally and in the direction of air flow with respect to each other. The ordering of tubes differs in at least two positions within the exchanger.
Toaster Assembly And Method For Toasting Bread Products
Star Manufacturing International Inc. - St. Louis MO
International Classification:
A47J37/08
US Classification:
99326
Abstract:
A toaster/heater assembly for toasting and heating food products has a housing containing a frame, and a heating chamber having a toaster/heater ensemble which heats two compartments of the chamber. The ensemble has a middle unit and two side units, each of which are divided into two insulating boards having side edges with nibs separated by notches. A pair of lower terminals are spaced from each other and connected to ends of a heating element. For the side units, the heating element winds from a terminal around the nibs and notches of one board section to then cross to the other board section to likewise wind, so that almost all of the strands of the element face a heating compartment. The middle unit heating element winds through the notches and nibs and crosses to the other board section and likewise winds about it so that heat radiates from both of its sides to two different compartments. The boards have food guides, such as rods, extending from mounts about the top and bottom of the boards to space the food products from the heating elements.

US Classification:

Abstract:
A portable electric baseboard heater includes a unitary structural back plate having a central vertical portion bounded by an integral lower triangular closed box-like structure having a downwardly sloping forward surface and an integral upper triangular portion having an upwardly sloping forward surface, a horizontal top surface and a rear vertical wall in the same plane as the central portion and terminating spacedly thereabove to provide a horizontal opening aft of the upwardly sloping forward surface. An angularly bent or molded plastic liner covers the interior of a portion of the top and upwardly sloping surfaces of the upper triangular portion to form an internal thermally insulative handle accessible through the horizontal opening to permit lifting of the heater. The lower triangular portion serves as a protective raceway for power supply wires to an electric finned tube heater assembly supported by the back plate between the upper and lower triangular portions. Feet are provided at the ends of the back plate to support the heater spacedly above a plane of support.
