Abstract:

The present invention discloses a medical injector and medicament loading system for use therewith. The medicament loading system includes cap for a medicament cartridge. The cap has a post for causing movement of the cartridge stopper toward the seal when the cap engages the medicament cartridge to thereby eliminate adhesion between the medicament chamber and the stopper. The medical injector according to the present invention includes the medicament loading system, i. e. , a cartridge assembly, a needle free syringe assembly, and a power pack assembly.

A fluid injecting device () generally including a fluid delivery assembly () and a needle-free injecting assembly (). The fluid delivery assembly () delivers or transfers the fluid medicine from a cartridge () into the needle-free injecting assembly () for injecting into a patient. A drive train () applies a force to a piston () inside the cartridge () during the delivery of the fluid to the needle-free injecting assembly () to prevent adhesion or static friction between the piston () and the cartridge (). In addition, sensors can be used to help ensure the proper amount of dosage is transferred to the needle-free injecting assembly, conserve power, reduce leakage during disassembly, among other functions.

Abstract:

A vapor delivery needle is provided that may include any of a number of features. One feature of the energy delivery probe is that it can apply condensable vapor energy to tissue, such as a prostrate, to shrink, damage, denaturate the prostate. In some embodiments, the vapor delivery needle can be advanced a predetermined distance into the prostate with a solenoid actuation mechanism. Methods associated with use of the energy delivery probe are also covered.
