Abstract:

A bad pixel detection and correction system and method in which two estimates are computed in real time for the value of a given pixel. The two estimates are based on the values of pixels surrounding the given pixel. One of the estimates is a minimum value and the other of the two estimates is a maximum value. When the value of the given pixel exceeds the maximum value, the given pixel value is reset to the maximum value. When the value of the given pixel is less than the minimum value, the given pixel value is reset to the minimum value. Otherwise, the given pixel value is not changed. The given pixel value after updating is injected in real time into the stream of pixel data provided for additional graphics processing, such as RGB interpolation. This prevents bad pixel data from affecting the values of other pixels computed in the additional graphics processing. The bad pixel detection and correction system can operate with both monochrome and color pixel data.

Abstract:

A dithering system yielding two-dimensional dither functioning is implemented without line memories. For each primary input color, a feedback loop outputs an color input signal plus error that can be preset to different values. The desired result is that vertical artifacts on a display formed from the output signals are relocated to different locations on consecutive display lines. If signal magnitude from the feedback loop output exceeds the magnitude of the video system creating the display, signal magnitude is preset to a value representing error at the start of the display line.

Abstract:

A wireless network device having active and inactive modes comprises a clock generating module that generates a first clock signal having a first clock rate. A voltage supply module generates a first voltage level and a second voltage level that is less than the first voltage level. A first digital module receives the first clock rate and the first voltage level during the active mode, receives the second voltage level during the inactive mode and does not receive the first clock signal during the inactive mode. A first analog module communicates with the voltage supply module and has reduced current consumption during the inactive mode.

Abstract:

A wireless station communicates with at least one other wireless station in a local area network (LAN). A media access control (MAC) device controls transitions between an active mode and a low power mode. A radio frequency (RF) transceiver communicates with the MAC device and, after the transition to the active mode, transmits data during a predetermined time slot that is assigned to the wireless LAN station and that is not assigned to other wireless LAN stations in the LAN. The RF transceiver receives data from other wireless LAN stations in the LAN during the active mode and transitions to the low power mode after receiving the data from the other wireless LAN stations. The MAC device transitions the wireless LAN station to the active mode prior to a timing beacon and transitions the wireless LAN station to the low power mode prior to a subsequent beacon.

A system for allocating bandwidth in a network includes a base station. The system also includes a plurality of stations in communication with the base station. During a measurement period, the base station monitors an amount of information communicated by each of the plurality of stations to determine bandwidth required by each of the plurality of stations. Abstract:

A dynamic clock frequency module for a system-on-chip (SOC) including modules that communicate over a system bus includes a request evaluation module that receives requests to utilize the system bus from the modules. A frequency assignment module calculates a clock frequency value for the system bus based on the requests received by the request evaluation module. The request evaluation module includes a summing module that generates a sum of requests between the modules. A pulse stretch module increases a period of time that at least one of the requests is asserted. A low pass filter prevents changes to the clock frequency value when the sum at least one of increases and decreases for less than a predetermined period. A slew rate control module adjusts at least one of a rate of increase and a rate of decrease in the clock frequency value.
