Abstract:

A wireless network device includes a first communication module to communicate with at least one of first devices and a second communication module to communicate with at least one of second devices. An arbitration module receives a request for communication from the first communication module, detects when the second communication module is communicating in a locked mode, and denies request for communication from the first communication module when the second communication module is communicating in the locked mode. Transmission or reception of a packet in the locked mode is not interrupted to avoid loss of the packet. The arbitration module grants the request for communication from the first communication module when the second communication module is communicating in the locked mode and when granting the request for communication from the first communication module does not require stopping the second communication module from communicating in the locked mode.

Abstract:

A system includes a signal processing module and a control module. The signal processing module receives a first clear channel assessment (CCA) signal for a first sub-channel of a communication channel, increases a pulse width of the first CCA signal by a predetermined period of time, and generates a second CCA signal. The control module receives the second CCA signal and a third CCA signal for a second sub-channel of the communication channel. The control module transmits data via one of the second sub-channel and the communication channel based on the second and third CCA signals.

Abstract:

A wireless network device including an antenna, a first communication module, and a second communication module. The first communication module is configured to transmit or receive packets of data in accordance with a first communication standard, and the second communication module is configured to transmit or receive packets of data in accordance with a second communication standard. The wireless network device further includes an arbitration module configured to grant access of each of the first communication module and the second communication module to the antenna so that the first communication module and the second communication module can respectively transmit or receive data packets in accordance with the first communication protocol and the second communication protocol.

Abstract:

An active pixel sensor implemented with CMOS technology that employs a plurality of photocells, each including a photodiode to sense illumination and a separate storage node with a stored charge that is discharged during an integration period by the photocurrent generated by the photodiode. Each photocell includes a switching network that couples the photocurrent to the storage node only during the integration period while ensuring that a relatively constant voltage is maintained across the photodiode during integration and non-integration periods. The transistors in the switching network operate in a forward active subthreshold region, ensuring linear operation and the diode voltage is clamped to a small positive voltage so that the diode is always reverse-biased. A source-follower generates a output signal correlated to the charge on the storage node that is coupled to column output circuitry that samples the signal. An operational scheme is employed wherein the storage node is first set to a defined voltage, the photocurrent is allowed to discharge the storage node and then the remaining charge coupled as a first signal to the column output circuitry, which samples and stores the first signal.
