A dual function lock for use on a hung window is provided that includes a base, a handle and a tilt latch actuating mechanism. A tilt latch for use on a hung window is also provided. Furthermore, a tilt latch assembly including a lock, left and right latches and an extensible member is provided. Furthermore, a hung window and tilt latch assembly is provided.
A dual function lock, a tilt latch assembly, and tilt latch for use on a hung or double hung window are provided. The lock includes a base, a handle, and a tilt latch actuating mechanism. The tilt latch assembly includes a lock, left and right latches, and an extensible member. The tilt latch actuating mechanism is adapted to receive the extensible member and has a null zone between locked and unlocked positions of the handle. In the null zone, no substantial movement of the extensible member as the handle is rotated from the locked to unlocked positions. The tilt latch actuating mechanism causes the extensible member to move in a direction toward the lock as the handle is rotated from the unlocked position to a tilt position.

Abstract:
A foot operated mouse for use on a surface comprises a housing including a heel portion, a toe portion, a pivot member, and a sensor mechanism. The pivot member is configured and arranged to contact the surface and allow the housing to pivot between an operating position and a nonoperating position. The operating position is when the sensor mechanism is proximate the surface, and the nonoperating position is when the sensor mechanism is pivoted upward away from the surface.
Measuring Device Having Flexible Tape Coiled Around A Plurality Of Reels
A measuring device having a housing and a slot therein with a retractable coiled flexible measuring tape. A plurality of rotatable reels are mounted on separate axes in the housing. A flexible measuring tape having measuring indicia thereon is coiled around the plurality of rotatable reels with a free end of the flexible measuring tape passing through the slot. A coil spring is operably coupled to at least one of the plurality of rotatable reels biasing the flexible measuring tape toward a retracted position.

Abstract:
Corner joints and methods of forming corner joints are described herein. The corner joints may provide the appearance of a mortise and tenon joint on both the exterior and interior surfaces of the corner joint, but include a mitered connection within the joint. Structures including at least one of the corner joints are also described.

Abstract:
A foot operated mouse for controlling a computer, providing similar functions as a conventional hand operated mouse. The novel foot operated mouse has a base which rests on a horizontal pad or surface, and a separate platform for supporting the foot. A ball for generating positional signals based upon an x-and-y coordinate grid is fixed to the base. The foot platform is attached to the ball and can wobble, or simultaneously rotate and incline, thereon. Switch operators corresponding to conventional finger operated control buttons of a conventional hand operated mouse are provided. Preferably, these switch operators are hinged to the foot platform, and incline when depressed. In an alternative embodiment, the foot platform and switch operators are integral. In the latter embodiment, switch operation results from contact of the platform with the base. Preferably, the upper surface of the platform is inclined, thereby establishing a toe position and a heel position.
