A charging system comprises an accessory module and a charging system. The accessory module includes a housing with a coupling portion and a power source. The coupling portion includes an engagement surface and a coupler configured to removably couple the accessory module to a person-support apparatus. The power source is positioned within the housing and includes a recharging assembly. The charging station includes a docking portion configured to receive the accessory module and a charging assembly configured to communicate power to the recharging assembly.

A person-support apparatus can include a frame, an endboard, a siderail, and a removable module. The frame is configured to support a person thereon. The endboard is coupled to the frame. The siderail is coupled to the frame. The siderail includes a siderail body with a first surface and a second surface. The first surface faces the frame and the second surface faces away from the frame. The removable module is configured to couple to at least one of the endboard and the siderail. The removable module includes a housing and an opening into the housing to define a storage area. The storage area includes at least one side and a bottom and is configured to at least one of dispense a fabric and removably retain one or more objects therewithin.

A patient support system, such as a bed, stretcher, wheelchair or the like, has an electronic control system and a user interface. The electronic control system and the user interface control bed functions, such as articulation of the head, seat, and leg sections of the bed deck, and control and/or monitor the operation of medical equipment, such as heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, sequential compression therapy devices, chest wall oscillation devices, respiratory therapy devices, blood oxygen monitors, and the like. In some embodiments, the electronic control system and user interface communicate with patient personal digital devices, such as audio players, computers, and phones. The user interface is on the headboard, footboard, and/or on a siderail of the bed in some embodiments.

A hospital bed has a bed exit alarm system including an audible alarm that sounds when an alert condition is detected, such as when a patient exits the bed or moves toward exiting the bed. The bed exit alarm system includes at least one user input that is used to enable the bed exit alarm system and a bed exit alarm silence input that stops the audible alarm from sounding. The bed exit alarm system is configured such that after the bed exit alarm silence input is used, the bed exit alarm system is re-enabled automatically without any action by a caregiver in response to one or more sensors sensing that the patient is, once again, supported on the bed.
