Abstract:

A frame is provided for an orthopedic brace having an upper frame assembly, a lower frame assembly, a first hinge and a second hinge. The first and second hinges dynamically connect the upper and lower frame assemblies. The upper or lower frame assembly includes a truss unit which defines a triangle. The first side of the triangle is a substantially vertical longitudinal strut. The second side of the triangle is a first cross beam which is substantially horizontal or diagonal. The third side of the triangle is a diagonal second cross beam.

Abstract:

The present invention is directed toward an accessory mounting system. The accessory mounting system can be used to mount an accessory to a vehicle. The accessory mounting system includes a base assembly and an accessory assembly. The base assembly can be fixedly positionable on the vehicle about a first axis, the base assembly including a first locking member and a base assembly second member. The accessory assembly can be removably securable to the base assembly. The accessory assembly can include a second locking member that selectively engages the first locking member. The accessory assembly can be rotatable about the first axis relative to the base member. The accessory mounting system can further include a charger that receives the accessory assembly. The charger can include a charge receiver engager that electrically engages the charge receiver, and electrically disengages from the charge receiver.

Abstract:

A sports shaft having an elongated body having a perimeter defined by a plurality of main walls with adjacent ones of the main walls being interconnected through a corresponding one of a plurality of edge walls, the edge walls being spaced apart around the perimeter. A respective bumper extends along at least part of length of at least one of the edge walls. The main and edge walls without the respective bumper have a first stiffness along a longitudinal direction of the shaft, and a combination of the respective bumper with the at least one of the edge walls has a stiffness along the longitudinal direction greater than the first stiffness. A method of making a sports shaft is also discussed.

An ice hockey goalie stick and method for making same is disclosed. The ice hockey goalie stick includes a shaft having an outer surface and extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and an opposed second end. A paddle is mounted to the shaft at the second end, the paddle extending along the longitudinal axis and terminating in a blade. Abstract:

A blade for a hockey stick, having a body including an outer layer with an outer surface defining at least part of each of the impact surfaces of the body. A face member is made from a different material, has opposed inner and outer surfaces interconnected by a peripheral edge, and is embedded in the body such that the peripheral edge is in contact with the first material and at least a major part of the inner surface is in contact with the body. The outer surface of the face member defines part of the first impact surface. The outer surface of the face member is aligned with the outer surface of the outer layer adjacent the face member such that the first impact surface is continuous over a transition between the outer layer and the face member. A method for making a hockey stick blade is also discussed.
