About:
Troy is a virtual native of DC—having lived there now since 1987—but he actually hails from the mountain town of Lenoir, North Carolina. Non-profit work is a family tradition for Troy, so it is no surprise that he began there, too, after graduating from the University of North Carolina. As part of that work, Troy raised funds for an exhibit on affordable housing while with the National Building Museum. You could say it was this—as well as his work with top builders at the National Housing Endowment and the National Association of Homebuilders—that inspired him to enter the world of real estate.
In some alternate universe, Troy is a motivational speaker, and begins his keynotes with: “Don’t ever pay rent!” He takes great satisfaction in helping his clients find the homes of their dreams, and to starting, or continuing, them on their paths toward financial wealth. Having served in the military, he also understands the impact of sudden relocations and the unique needs that accompany such a move. He takes pride in going above and beyond for his clients to help them achieve their real estate goals.

"Food and drink were the great subject of Portlandia." Troy Patterson writes that the show "has excelled at rapid characterizations, microscopically observed comedies of manners, and amiable lampoons of everyday anxieties and never more so than when the show has considered food and drink." [New

Fourth of July gets louder: A victory for the individual, but what about the commons?
Additionally, celebrating American ideals with pageantry and sparks may be less of a factor in fireworks growth than the fact that doing dangerous stuff in your cousins backyard is an important element of American folk culture, as Troy Patterson notes in Slate.
