Abstract:
An aspect of the present disclosure provides for a quarter-wave retarder film that is overlaid onto a linearly-polarized stereoscopic image pair in an appropriate orientation in order to produce an image that is viewable using circularly polarized viewing glasses for increased viewing comfort and head-tilt resistance. Another aspect of the present disclosure enables the production of StereoJet-type ink jet images through the use of two separate single-sided clear polarizer substrates with the stretch orientation parallel to the running edge of the support layer. A further aspect of the present disclosure is directed to the production of laminated stereoscopic images in which the spacing of the image planes of the members of the image pair can be made in close proximity, farther proximity, or at an intermediate proximity to achieve desired optical, mechanical and/or visual results.

Abstract:
A fine-grain emulsion in a plurality of predetermined spaced depressions is coalesced to form, in situ, a plurality of single effective silver halide grains in a predetermined spaced array by the action of a solution of a silver halide solvent containing a dissolved silver salt.
Substituted-Halide Silver Halide Emulsions And Products Containing Same
Photosensitive substituted-halide silver halide emulsions are prepared by substituting bromide and/or iodide anions for part of the chloride anions of a silver iodochloride emulsion. These substituted-halide silver halide emulsions are particularly useful as negative working silver halide emulsions in diffusion transfer processes.
Special Optical Element For Camera To Microscope Adaptor

Polaroid Corporation - Cambridge MA
International Classification:
G02B 504 G02B 718
US Classification:

Abstract:
The invention is an optical element, one version of which is useful for operating an automatic exposure control of a self-contained camera coupled to a microscope without detracting from the brightness of the magnified image to be recorded on the camera's film format. The article includes three reflecting surfaces arranged to extract a small part of the light emerging from the microscope's eyepiece and direct it into the photodetector of the automatic exposure control. A lensrefracts the light, after the third reflection, to improve the distribution of the light onto the camera's photodetector. The article is suitable for manufacture as a homogeneous molding of transparent plastic.

Abstract:
A photosensitive silver halide element comprising a support carrying photosensitive silver halide grains in a predetermined spaced array is prepared by a method which comprises at least partially coalescing fine-grain silver halide in a plurality of spaced depressions in a hydrophobic layer, superposing said layer with a hydrophilic layer during or subsequent to said coalescence, and then separating said hydrophilic layer and said hydrophobic layer whereby said coalesced silver halide grains are retained on said hydrophilic layer in a pattern corresponding substantially to the pattern of said spaced depressions.
