Abstract:

A safety line system includes support assemblies which clamp to respective reinforcement bars protruding upward beyond the top surface of a concrete beam. The support assemblies include stanchion assemblies having respective posts that may be selectively pivoted relative to the beam. The support assemblies also preferably include end anchor assemblies that are connected to respective stanchion assemblies by respective chains.

Abstract:

A method for controlling a wireless communication signal transmitter over a wireless broadband network is presented. In the method, transmitter commands for the transmitter are received over a wireless broadband network at a wireless broadband router. The transmitter commands are directed from the router over a first wired connection to the transmitter. Also, monitor commands for a monitoring device are received over the network at the router. The monitoring device is configured to monitor an electrical characteristic of the transmitter. The monitor commands are directed from the router over a second wired connection to a serial communication cable adapter. At the adapter, the monitor commands are converted into a serial communication format. The resulting serial monitor commands are transferred from the adapter over a serial communication connection to the monitoring device.

Abstract:

A system for loading, unloading and carrying a boat, upright with motor, on a vehicle includes a raised carrying rack positioned at an incline above the vehicle and a loading arm extending rearwardly from the back of the vehicle and supported in cantilever fashion by cables. A winch, cable and pulley system pulls the boat out of the water, onto the loading arm, up onto rollers at the rear of the carrying rack, and to the forward end of the carrying rack where it is secured. The loading arm may be folded upright after the boat is loaded on the carrying rack.

Abstract:

A preferred embodiment safety device for use with an upright structure includes an elongate member, a connecting member, a securing member, and a lifeline. The connecting member is operatively connected to the elongate member proximate a first end of the elongate member. The connecting member extends outward from the elongate member and is configured and arranged to engage the upright structure. The securing member is operatively connected to the elongate member proximate a second end of the elongate member. The securing member is configured and arranged to extend around a portion of an anchor member. The connecting member and the securing member anchor the elongate member thereby providing an anchorage point. The lifeline is operatively connected to the elongate member, wherein the lifeline provides fall protection proximate the upright structure when the elongate member is anchored.

Abstract:

A ratcheting anchorage device for use with a lifeline when performing tasks on a surface includes an anchorage member proximate the surface, a support member, a ratcheting device, an elongate member, and a connecting member. The support member is configured and arranged to be supported by the surface proximate the anchorage member. The ratcheting device is operatively connected to the support member. The elongate member has a first end and a second end. The first end is operatively connected to the ratcheting device, and the second end is operatively connected to the connecting member, which is configured and arranged to engage the anchorage member. The ratcheting device is configured and arranged to ratchet the elongate member so that the elongate member becomes taut when the connecting member engages the anchorage member thereby securing the support member to the anchorage member.

A retractable lifeline comprises a housing a drum rotationally mounted in said space and a lanyard wound about said drum. The lanyard extends from the housing and is extendable from said housing and retractable into said housing. The retractable lifeline further includes a lock assembly to prevent rotation of said drum, and hence extension or retraction of said lanyard, when said lanyard is at a desired length, and an override of the lock mechanism in case of a fall so that the retractable internal shock absorption and clutch mechanism can arrest the fall.

Abstract:

A retractable fall arrest device comprises a unit housing, a spring sub-assembly, a brake/clutch sub-assembly, and a drum assembly. The spring and brake/clutch sub-assemblies each include shaft portions which extend into the housing and are removably connected together or to the drum assembly, and support the drum assembly in the housing. The spring and brake/clutch assembly are themselves removably connected to the unit housing. Finally, the unit housing comprises two wall members (i.e., clam shells) which are removably connected together. This fall arrest device allows for replacement of any of the four constituent components of the device in the field, thus reducing the down time between repairs or recertification of a particular fall arrest device.
