Abstract:

A method of determining eyeglass frame parameters from a digital image of the persons face and a digital image of an eyeglass frame. The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a digital image of the persons face; (b) determining a physical scale of the face using a scaling factor; (c) locating center points P , P of the left and right irises in the face image, and determining a pupil midpoint P ; (d) providing a digital image of an eyeglass frame; (e) adjusting, if necessary, the size of the frame to the physical scale of the face; (f) combining the frame and face images such that the frame is superimposed on the face; (g) aligning the frame and face in accordance with the frame center point f and the pupil midpoint P ; and (h) determining the frame parameters.

Abstract:

Described herein are tricyclic macrolactones. The macrolactones have a high binding affinity for PKC. The compounds described herein can be used in a number of therapeutic applications including cancer and Alzheimer's prevention and treatment. The compounds described herein can also treat memory loss. Also described herein are methods for producing macrolactones. The methods permit the high-yield synthesis of macrolactones in fewer steps and with a higher degree of substitution and specificity.

Disclosed is a polyimide film that exhibits: an in-plane coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) that is less than 75 ppm/ C. between 50 C. and 250 C.; a glass transition temperature (T) that is greater than 250 C. for the polyimide film cured at 260 C. in air; a 1% TGA weight loss temperature that is greater than 450 C.; a tensile modulus that is between 1.5 GPa and 5.0 GPa; an elongation to break that is greater than 20%; an optical retardation at 550 nm that is less than 100 nm for a 10-μm film; a birefringence at 633 nm that is less than 0.002; a haze that is less than 1.0%; a b* that is less than 3; a yellowness index that is less than 5; and an average transmittance between 380 nm and 780 nm that is greater than 88%.
