A directional coupler that has a small package size and repeatable electrical characteristics. The directional coupler includes a low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate with several layers. Electrical components such as resistors and capacitors are integrated within the LTCC substrate. A transformer is attached to the upper surface of the LTCC substrate and is electrically connected to the resistors and capacitors. The LTCC substrate has electrically conductive vias extending therethrough. The vias are used to make electrical connections between the layers of the LTCC substrate.

Abstract:

The invention provides a composition comprising transthyretin and an ICAM-1 targeting agent, wherein the transthyretin and ICAM-1 targeting agent are coupled together, as well as methods of preparing such compositions. The invention further provides a diabody capable of binding specifically to ICAM-1 and transthyretin. Aryl substituted thiazol-2-yl-piperidines and related compounds useful as modulators of survival motor neuron (SMN) protein production are provided herein. Without being bound to any particular theory it is believed the aryl substituted thiazol-2-yl-piperidines and related compounds provided herein act to increase production of the SMN2 form of survival motor neuron protein. These compounds are useful for treating spinal muscular atrophy. Abstract:

A cooling pad includes a bottom section, a top section, and a middle section which together form a contoured surface to support a person's back. The contoured surface includes concave and convex sections, providing ventilated pockets which allow air to flow to a person's back. Inside the middle section there are intake holes, located on either side of the cooling pad, and exhaust holes, positioned atop and below the middle section. The intake holes allow air to be brought in from outside, while the exhaust holes direct air to cool a person's back. Fan and power systems are stored inside the middle section. The fan blows air through the exhaust holes. The system as a whole is designed to utilize negative pressure to bring fresh air in from the intakes, replacing the air the fan pushes through the exhaust holes. The resulting airflow prevents back sweat from occurring.
