Abstract:
Device, system, and method of adjusting channel utilization for wireless transmission. For example, a wireless communication unit may control a wireless transmission by a wireless communication device during a contention period, wherein the wireless communication unit is to wait for a back-off period prior to beginning the wireless transmission during the contention period, and wherein a duration of the back-off period is based on a transmission power of the wireless transmission. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Implicit Wireless Relay Station Based Upon Observed Communications Between A Subscriber Station And A Base Station
Disclosed in some examples is a method performed by a relay station, the method including receiving at a relay station a data packet transmitted from a base station to a subscriber station; receiving a non-acknowledgement (NACK) message transmitted from the subscriber station to the base station in response to the data packet; receiving resource allocation information transmitted from the base station to the subscriber station; and transmitting, in response to the received NACK message at the transmission time, the data packet to the subscriber station in a resource allocation allocated for a retransmission of the data packet from the base station to the subscriber station, wherein the resource allocation is determined from the resource allocation information.

Abstract:
A signal structure for use in D2D communications is described. In one embodiment, a preamble for automatic gain control at the receiver end is included in the transmitted signal. Techniques for scheduling of D2D transmissions using carrier sensing multiple access (CSMA) and a power control schemes for interference management are also described.

Abstract:
Embodiments of computer-implemented methods, systems, computing devices, and computer-readable media are described herein for device-to-device on-demand advertisement. In some embodiments, the method may include receiving a request for broadcasting an advertisement by a device-to-device (D2D) advertiser via a D2D communication protocol, requesting that an evolved NodeB (eNB) associated with the D2D advertiser allocate a resource for broadcasting the advertisement by the D2D advertiser, determining that the broadcasting the advertisement is no longer needed, and requesting that the eNB retrieve the allocated resource. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract:
Examples are disclosed for a system to improve wireless spectral efficiency, including a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, a radio coupled to the processor component, one or more antennas coupled to the radio, wireless logic to be executed on the processor component to: process reception of a higher-power request to send (RTS) signal from an initiator by an initiator's receiver; process transmission of a higher-power clear to send (CTS) signal to the initiator, to set a lower-power transmit opportunity (TXOP); and process reception of an invitation to share the TXOP at lower power, the invitation comprising an indication that devices that receive the invitation should transmit at lower power during a time period indicated by the higher-power CTS signal; and a timer to track progress of the time period.

Abstract:
Embodiments may comprise logic to determine whether a value of a network allocation vector indicates that the apparatus is blocked from transmitting on the medium; logic to transmit a first clear to send packet at a first power level in response to determining that the apparatus is not blocked from transmitting on the medium, the first clear to send packet comprising a flag or bit to indicate the Shading Transmission Starts (STS); logic to receive a second clear to send packet after transmitting the first clear to send packet; and logic to transmit a first data transmission at a second power level after receiving the second clear to send packet, the second power level being less than the first power level.
