Abstract:

A method for produce sanitation using bacteriophages is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method includes the steps of (1) providing at least one bacteriophage; and (2) applying the bacteriophage to the produce. The produce may include fruits and vegetables. The produce may be freshly-cut produce, damaged produce, diseased produce, or contaminated produce. The produce may be sprayed with bacteriophage, washed with bacteriphage, immersed in a liquid containing bacteriophage, etc. The bacteriophage may be applied once, periodically or continuously. In one embodiment, chemical sanitizers may also be applied to the produce.

Abstract:

A device and method for enabling a user to draw upon a liquid contained within the device includes a container, a holder for fastening the container to a principal apparatus, a conduit for carrying liquid, and a support for rigidly supporting the conduit in a variety of positions adjacent the user's mouth. The method includes providing the device, fastening the device to the principal apparatus in a manner that resists vibration, and positioning an outlet of the conduit adjacent to the user's mouth so as to enable the user to drink with only slightly moving his head or mouth. Therefore, the device and method may be employed to enhance independence of persons with disabilities, among other uses.

Abstract:

A child apparatus can include one or more shells/frames upon which a child can sit or lie. All or a portion of each shell/frame can be covered in soft goods. The soft goods component can include one or more channels or tunnels provided along all or a portion of a perimeter of the soft goods component. One or more stiffening members can be inserted into the one or more channels or tunnels. The shell/frame can include one or more cavities for receiving a portion of the stiffening member therein to couple the soft goods component to the shell/frame. Alternatively, the shell/frame can include soft goods retaining tabs along a back or side of the shell/frame, and the elongated stiffening member can be inserted between each soft goods retaining tab and the back or side of the shell/frame.
