Abstract:

There is disclosed a method and apparatus for devising the financial aspects of a plan of benefits for a given population of employees in accordance with goals set by an employer of the employees. This invention enters data into a memory of a computer system reflective of the employees, the costs of the benefits and the employer's goals. Next, variables are defined and entered into the memory reflecting the costs of the benefits, and a set of relationships is constructed of the cost variables in a manner to constrain the cost variables in accordance with the plan of benefits. Finally, the set of relationships is processed in the computer system to provide at least one set of solutions of the cost variables.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for managing access to data based on a geographic location requirement are disclosed herein. According to an aspect, a system includes a first computing device comprising a data storage manager configured to manage access to stored data based on one or more predetermined rule(s) that specifies geographic location requirement(s) for permissible access to the stored data. The manager is also configured to receive, from a second computing device, a request to access the data. Further, the manager is configured to determine a geographic location of the second computing device, determine whether the geographic location of the second computing device meets the geographic location requirement(s), and permit or deny access to the stored data by the second computing device in response to determining that the geographic location of the second computing device meets the geographic location requirement(s). Furthermore, the geographic location of the client is dynamically tracked to ensure ongoing compliance with the location rule(s), and if at any point the client becomes non-compliant, access to the data is denied and the data stored on the client is deleted by the server.

Abstract:

Methods and systems for performing one or more operations on a first computing device are disclosed. A method includes receiving, from a second computing device via a short-range wireless communication, a service session setup request and an identifier of one of the second computing device and an associated user of the second computing device. The method further includes determining whether to authorize the service session setup request based on the identifier. Then in response to determining to authorize the service session setup request, a service session may be established between the first and the second computing devices. The method also includes receiving one or more service instructions that are allowable based on the identifier. The method furthermore includes performing, at the first computing device, the one or more operations based on the service instructions.
