Abstract:
An expandable, modular, multi-mode lavatory for aircraft featuring its multi-mode use as a lavatory, shower and accommodations for handicapped persons. The invention comprises a primary structure with a volume that expands into adjacently located unused space, such as an aircrafts main entry cross-aisleway. Deployable walls and doors are used to create a partitioned environment. A false bottom shower pan cover provides structural support for wheelchairs while also being removable to reveal a modular shower pan for bathing.

The enclosure includes a primary wall and a secondary wall, whereby an air channel is defined between the primary wall and the secondary wall. A controller directs misted air through the misting nozzle and further activates an air flow system such that misted air within the shower area flows through and is dried in the air channel.

An exciter assembly for use with a flat panel loudspeaker system including a panel having a core, an inner sheet coupled to an inner surface of the core and an outer sheet coupled to an outer surface of the core. The exciter assembly may include an exciter having a voice coil assembly attachable to the outer sheet of the panel, the voice coil assembly having a lock pad, and a lock base releasably engaging the lock pad and attachable to the outer sheet of the panel, to vibrate the panel to generate sound energy; and an exciter support bracket connected to the exciter housing and attachable to the outer sheet of the panel.
