Abstract:
An electronic music device for skaters is boot mounted and includes a sensor sensing skate states capturing forward backward direction of motion and inside outside lean. A sensory signal conditioning and calibration circuit converts mapped signals into audible tones. An audio amplifier powers wired or wireless headphones. The skater plays music with skates like a musician plays music on a musical instrument. The device tuned as different musical instruments, in a synchronized precision skating team allows musical composition performance. The skaters play the music with their skates creating musical and choreographic dance.

Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for monitoring patients in a unit of a hospital, an entire hospital, or several hospitals. In some of these embodiments, the methods receives data pertaining to multiple patients. The method aggregates the data and calculated scores based on the received data. The method also calculates trends associated with the aggregated data and/or the generated scores. The method further displays the aggregated and calculated data in a unified display that facilitates efficient allocation of resources in the hospital unit, the hospital, or the group of hospitals.

Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method and system for efficiently transferring medical images. Some embodiments receive a medical image in a first platform dependent format of a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The first platform dependent format is one that is accessible by a first format compliant device that includes a library that specifies how to decode the first format. Some embodiments transform the medical image from the first format to a second format. The second format includes decoded content of the first format that is viewable on a first format non-compliant device. The transformed image is then passed to the device for viewing. Additionally, some embodiments efficiently transfer medical images by identifying image settings for one or more devices and by passing requested images that are optimized by resizing the images according to the image settings of the requesting device.

Abstract:
A system, for interpreting information for a physician user or non-physician user, is described. The system includes a processing module configured to convert numerical data to at least one of a natural-language text and a machine vocalization. The at least one of the natural-language text and the machine vocalization describes a characteristic of the numerical data. The characteristic of the numerical data comprises at least one of a trend, a first derivative, a second derivative, a high value, a low value, and a time period, a pattern of repetition, an extrapolation, an interpolation, and a frequency. The physician user may enter data or receive data by voice alone through the backend database. The physician user may also order tests, labs or check on the same by voice alone.

Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide an automated method for continuously monitoring at least one patient. The method continuously collects medical data about the patient from several different inputs. The method integrates the collected data, and continuously computes at least one severity score for the patient based on the integrated data. The method uses the severity scores to continuously monitor the patient. In some embodiments, integrating the data includes formatting the data so that that the data can be used to compute the severity score. Formatting the data in some embodiments includes using a set of database tables to convert the data. In some embodiments, the database tables are modifiable by a user. Some embodiments continuously compute multiple severity scores. The severity scores computed in some embodiments include the APACHE II score, the SAPS II score, the MEWS score, or user-defined severity scores.

Some embodiments provide a system and method for automatedly aggregating medically related data and disseminating different sets of the aggregated data to two or more different members of a medical care provider. Some embodiments automatedly and intelligently disseminate the aggregated data such that the data that is written once to the data storage solution is usable for a multitude of purposes within the functions of the medical care provider. Some embodiments intelligently disseminate the aggregated data by disseminating only relevant sub-components of the data to different members of the medical care provider based on the needs of the members such that different members receive different subsets of the data.
