Abstract:
Inter-frequency handoffs in a CDMA or other wireless communication system are controlled using a noise-limited coverage trigger metric which is able to distinguish between same-frequency cell boundaries and other-frequency cell boundaries in the system. The trigger metric may be generated as a function of an average signal-to-noise measure for pilot signals received at a mobile station of the system and a linear sum of the signal-to-noise measures. The signal-to-noise measures may be generated in the mobile station and included in messages transmitted from the mobile station to one or more base stations of the system. The trigger metric is used to control a handoff from a current frequency to a new frequency in an ongoing call. The trigger metric may alternatively be based on a measure of mobile receive power alone. Other aspects of the invention reduce unnecessary searching for a new frequency and decrease the likelihood of âping-pongingâ from a current frequency to a new frequency by providing additional checks in the handoff process.

Abstract:
A method includes receiving information at a first access node with which a user equipment is associated, said information including timing information of a second access node. The method also includes providing access node information for said user equipment in dependence on said timing information, said access node information defining at least one time period when said user equipment is to at least one of transmit to and receive signals from said at least one of said first and second access node.
A method includes receiving information at a user equipment from a first apparatus, the information indicating to the user equipment is to communicate with a second apparatus.

Abstract:
The present invention proposes a method, including in a communication network area constituted by a plurality of transmission points configured for coordinated transmissions to at least one target, each transmission point being identified by an individual identifier, each transmission point being configured to transmit common reference signals on common channels and dedicated reference signals on dedicated channels to said at least one target device, assigning the respective individual identifier of each transmission point to the common reference signals on the common channels of the respective transmission point, and allocating, to the dedicated reference signals on the dedicated channels of respective plural transmission points, an identifier unrelated to the individual identifiers. Also, corresponding devices are addressed.

Abstract:
A topological spin memory effect, defined as the recovery of magnetic skyrmions or magnetic bubble skyrmions in magnetic thin films after a transition to a dramatically different spin texture, is used for encrypted non-volatile information storage. The storage strategy is based on magnetic skyrmions, that is, topologically protected spin textures comprising chiral domain walls surrounding small (e.g., nanometers to microns in diameter), typically circular, single-domain cores. Systems and methods are described for encrypted non-volatile information storage based on a spin memory effect in magnetic thin films that support skyrmions. Systems and methods encrypt and recover information stored in the form of magnetic skyrmions.

Abstract:
The combination of: a portable electronic device; a base on the portable electronic device and having at least one connector part; and an accessory usable with the portable electronic device and having at least one connector part. The at least one connector part on the base and at least one connector part on the accessory are configured to cooperate such that: a) the accessory is movable from a starting position, fully spaced from the base, to against the base and guidingly relative to the base in translation in a first direction along a first path portion towards one fully connected relationship with the base; and b) with the accessory in the one fully connected relationship with the base the accessory is blocked from being separated from the base.
