Abstract:

An endoscope having an optical guide that is optically coupled to a first broadband light source and a second laser light source that emits light at a wavelength in a range of 350 nm to 420 nm. The endoscope has an image sensor at a distal end and collects a reflectance image including red, green and blue components with the image sensor in response to illumination by said broadband light source. The image sensor also collects an autofluorescence image having a blue component, a green component and a red component. A processor processes the fluorescence image by determining a ratio of the fluorescence image and the reflectance image to provide a processed fluorescence image.

Abstract:

An improved system and method for online advertising driven by predicting user interest is provided. An advertising demand engine may be provided for selecting advertisements to be served to a user for display with requested content. An advertisement may be correlated to an advertisement previously selected by a user or by other users in the user's segment. An advertising correlation engine may be provided for correlating an advertisement to another advertisement using collaborative filtering, an advertising clustering engine may be provided for clustering correlated advertisements using item-based collaborative filtering, and a user correlation engine may be provided for segmenting users by selected advertisements and creating a cluster of advertisements associated with each cluster of users. Correlated advertisements that are selected may be allocated web page placements and then served to a user for display with requested content.

Abstract:

Broadly speaking, the present invention fills the need of selecting correlated advertisements for displaying to users by utilizing the advertisement-viewing data collected on users of a web site. The advertisement-viewing (ad-viewing) data of users of a web site can be correlated to extract similarities and patterns of ads being viewed by users of the web site. The correlated ad-viewing data of all users of the web site, along with URLs (Uniform Resource Locators) of ads viewed by a particular user, can be used to select advertisements that are likely to be interests to the particular user. Ad-viewing data correlation allows the web site to select ads to display to users in real-time based on users' latest ad-viewing data. Since selection of ads to display is based on mathematical calculation using a correlation table of ad-viewing that has been generated ahead of time, the method can be scaled to meet demands of a large amount of users, such as millions. In addition to ad-viewing correlation table and users' latest ad-viewing data, advertisement pool of advertisements paid by advertisers is also taken into consideration during the ad-selection process.

Abstract:

An improved system and method for online advertising using user social information is provided. An advertising demand engine may be provided for selecting advertisements using user social information and online behavior to serve to a user for display. A social network engine may be provided for constructing a plurality of networks of correlated users from social network information and online behavior. These networks may be updated with additional online behavior. An advertisement previously selected by a user or by other users belonging to a network constructed using social information and online behavior may be sent to users belonging to the same network in response to a request to serve an advertisement. In other embodiments, a ranked list of advertisements selected by users in multiple networks may be determined, and advertisements may then be sent to users from the ranked list of advertisements.

A method of handling a fault in a battery pack, the method comprising: a battery module supplying a voltage to a high-voltage circuit; a battery management system transmitting a heartbeat signal to the battery module via a fault bus; the battery module preventing the heartbeat signal from being transmitted back to the battery management system in response to the battery module detecting a critical condition; and the battery management system shutting off the supply of voltage from the battery module to the high-voltage circuit in response to the battery module preventing the heartbeat signal from being transmitted back to the battery management system. The battery module transmits battery data to the battery management system via a communication bus, which is distinct from the fault bus, and the battery management system transmits one or more commands to the battery module via the communication bus.

A method of registering a plurality of Battery-Monitoring-Units (BMUs) in a battery pack with a Battery-Management-System (BMS), the method comprising: providing an indication to a user, wherein the indication prompts the user to register one of the BMUs with the BMS; the user performing an action on a communication-initiating mechanism on one of the BMUs, wherein the communication-initiating mechanism is configured to initiate the sending of a communication by the BMU to the BMS in response to the user performing the action; the BMU sending a communication to the BMS in response to the user performing the action on the communication-initiating mechanism; the BMS receiving the communication from the BMU; and the BMS registering the BMU in response to receiving the communication from the BMU.
