Abstract:

A programmable input/output device for use with a programmable logic device (PLD) is presented comprising an input buffer, an output buffer and programmable elements. The programmable elements may be programmed to select a logic standard for the input/output device to operate at. For instance, a given set of Select Bits applied to the programmable elements may select TTL logic, in which case the input and output buffers would operate according to the voltage levels appropriate for TTL logic (e. g. , 0. 4 volts to 2. 4 volts). For a different set of Select Bits, the GTL logic standard would be applied (e. g. , 0. 8 volts to 1. 2 volts). The invention enables a single PLD to be used in conjunction with various types of external circuitry.

While interacting with a messaging interface, keywords or other search criteria are automatically identified and used to perform a search. Search results and sponsored links (or advertisements) are displayed to the user within the messaging interface. To alleviate privacy concerns, this process will not be performed unless the user has explicitly opted-in to the search feature. In another embodiment, the user can highlight keywords in an outbound or inbound message to trigger a search without leaving the messaging interface. Abstract:

For use in a wireless communication network, a mobile station configured to determine a preamble sequence from a set of indexed preamble sequences by generating an index of the preamble sequence from a B-bit message is provided. The mobile station is configured to group the B bits of the message into n groups, each group having a substantially equal number of bits. The mobile station is also configured to generate a parity bit from each of the n groups. The mobile station is further configured to determine the index of the preamble sequence based on the n parity bits. The mobile station is still further configured to transmit the preamble sequence corresponding to the index of the preamble sequence. A base station configured to recover the B-bit message using the received signal from the mobile station is also provided.
