Abstract:
A method and system for automatically summarizing a video document. The video document is decomposed into scenes, shots and frames, and an importance value is assigned to each scene, shot and frame. Keyframes are allocated among the shots based on the importance value of each shot. The allocated number of keyframes are then selected from each shot. The number of keyframes may be altered for greater or lesser detail in response to user input.

Abstract:
A system and method for merging scenes in a video sequence and constructing a keyframe to represent the underlying merged video content includes decomposing a video sequence into a series of component scenes, merging component scene pairs until a predetermined number of scene sets remain, extracting a keyframe from each scene set containing a single component scene, and constructing a new keyframe for each scene set containing a plurality of component scenes.

Abstract:
A programmable input/output device for use with a programmable logic device (PLD) is presented comprising an input buffer, an output buffer and programmable elements. The programmable elements may be programmed to select a logic standard for the input/output device to operate at. For instance, a given set of Select Bits applied to the programmable elements may select TTL logic, in which case the input and output buffers would operate according to the voltage levels appropriate for TTL logic (e. g. , 0. 4 volts to 2. 4 volts). For a different set of Select Bits, the GTL logic standard would be applied (e. g. , 0. 8 volts to 1. 2 volts). The invention enables a single PLD to be used in conjunction with various types of external circuitry.

Abstract:
While interacting with a messaging interface, keywords or other search criteria are automatically identified and used to perform a search. Search results and sponsored links (or advertisements) are displayed to the user within the messaging interface. To alleviate privacy concerns, this process will not be performed unless the user has explicitly opted-in to the search feature. In another embodiment, the user can highlight keywords in an outbound or inbound message to trigger a search without leaving the messaging interface. In another embodiment, the user can input a search keyword or phrase to trigger a search without leaving the messaging interface.

During a calculation technique, a modification to a reflective photo-mask is calculated. In particular, using information specifying a defect associated with a location on a top surface of the reflective photo-mask, the modification to the reflective photo-mask is calculated. For example, the calculation may involve an inverse optical calculation in which a difference between a pattern associated with the reflective photo-mask at an image plane in a photo-lithographic process and a reference pattern at the image plane in the photo-lithographic process is used to calculate the modification at an object plane in the photo-lithographic process. Note that the modification includes a material added to the top surface of the reflective photo-mask using an additive fabrication process. Moreover, the modification is proximate to the location.
