Abstract:

Techniques for transmitting signals on shared resources in a manner to detect and/or combat collision are described. In an aspect, a terminal may transmit a signal on a subset of resource elements in a resource block, and at least one null resource element with no signal may be used to detect for collision of the signal. In another aspect, different terminals may simultaneously transmit their signals on different subsets of resource elements in a resource block. These different subsets of resource elements may be pseudo-randomly selected to randomize interference. In one design, a terminal may determine a resource block to use for transmission of a signal, select a subset of the resource elements in the resource block, and transmit the signal on the selected resource elements, e.g., to at least one other terminal for peer-to-peer communication. The signal may be a peer discovery signal, a paging signal, etc.

Abstract:

The present invention provides for modified Flavivirus such as a modified dengue virus type 1, 2, 3, 4, a combination of these, or a tetravalent combination of these. The modification according to various aspects of the invention results in reduced viral protein expression compared to a parent virus, wherein the reduction in expression is the result of recoding one or more regions of the virus. For example, the prM, or envelope (E) region can be recoded. In various embodiments one or more regions are recoded by reducing the codon pair bias or codon usage bias of the protein-encoding sequence. These modified Flaviviruses are used as vaccine compositions to provide a protective immune response.

Abstract:

A system and method for identifying devices with WiFi connection incompatibility are described. Data related to connectivity for at least one customer premise equipment (CPE) connected to each terminal in a satellite network is collected in order to generate a set of metrics associated with each of the at least CPE using the collected data. A first set of results indicative of network incompatibility is determined for each of the CPEs. Next, a second set of results indicative of network incompatibility is determined for each CPE using at least one machine learning algorithm. Information indicative of network incompatibility is subsequently generated for each CPE based on the first set of results and the second set of results.
