Abstract:

In a particular embodiment, a pressure sensor apparatus for strain gauge pressure sensing is disclosed that includes a plurality of strain gauges comprising a first strain gauge and a second strain gauge. The pressure sensor apparatus also includes a diaphragm coupled between the plurality of strain gauges and an object configured to apply pressure to the diaphragm. The diaphragm has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a first thickness between the object and the first strain gauge. The second portion has a second thickness between the object and the second strain gauge. In an uncompressed state, the second thickness is greater than the first thickness.

Abstract:

Methods and systems for ordering assays which detect SNPs or gene expression are provided. The methods use PCR and RT-PCR procedures. Collections of stock assays are assembled using pre- and post-manufacturing quality control procedures and made available to consumers via the Internet. In addition, custom assays are prepared upon order from the consumer and these assays are also prepared using pre- and post-manufacturing quality control procedures. The assays are then delivered to the consumer.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to patterned photonic crystals. Provided photonic crystals are large scale silk inverse opals with tunable, geometrically defined structural color. Provided photonic crystals exhibit structural color or a photonic band gap (“PBG”). Provided photonic crystals are is found to be highly sensitive to water vapor and UV irradiation. Provided multicolored photonic macro- or micro-patterns are shown by selectively applying water vapor or UV irradiation through a shadow mask. The present disclosure also provides methods for making and using the same.
