Abstract:

User circuitry within a wireless User Equipment (“UE”) that may utilize multiple subscriber identity module (“SIM”) profiles activates two or more SIM profiles to be active simultaneously. The user circuitry transfers service requests for wireless data services using the SIM profiles to network circuitry. The wireless data services may have different slice service types over different operating frequency bands of different target cells. The network circuitry wirelessly exchanges data with wireless access nodes associated with the target cells over the operating frequency bands to establish packet data unit sessions comprising the slice service types using the respective SIM profiles such that multiple packet data unit sessions are active using multiple SIM profiles simultaneously. Various applications may be mapped to the appropriate SIM profile and packet data unit session based on the respective provisioned slice characteristics matching the respective application requirements.

A wireless communication device for establishing two different user equipment (UE) radio access network (RAN) attachments. The wireless communication device comprises an application processor; a baseband processor; a non-transitory memory; a virtual user equipment (UE) application stored in the non-transitory memory that, when executed by the application processor as a first virtual UE instance accesses a first eSIM profile stored in the non-transitory memory, establishes a first UE attachment to a radio access network based on credentials accessed from the first eSIM profile, and conducts a first wireless communication session via the first UE attachment, and when executed by the application processor as a second virtual UE application instance accesses a second eSIM profile stored in the non-transitory memory, establishes a second UE attachment to a radio access network based on credentials accessed from the second eSIM profile, and conducts a second wireless communication session via the second UE attachment.

Abstract:

A wireless access node serves wireless User Equipment (UEs) and wireless Integrated Access and Backhaul Mobile Terminations (IAB MTs). A radio exchanges access communications with the UEs over a frequency channel. The radio receives an IAB request from one of the IAB MTs, and in response, a controller allocates the frequency channel into a UE subchannel and an MT subchannel. The radio now exchanges access communications with the UEs over the UE subchannel and exchanges backhaul communications with the wireless IAB MT over the MT subchannel. The controller reallocates the frequency channel when an IAB MT is added to give the new IAB MT its own MT subchannel. The controller reallocates the frequency channel when an IAB MT is removed to increase the size of the UE subchannel.

Abstract:

User circuitry within a wireless User Equipment (“UE”) in need of a network slice or a handoff between cells identifies a slice service type. The user circuitry processes an uplink interference threshold of a target cell based on the slice service type. The user circuitry identifies a preferred operating frequency band based on the slice service type and the uplink interference threshold of the target cell. The user circuitry transfers a service request for a wireless data service having the slice service type over the preferred operating frequency band to network circuitry. The network circuitry wirelessly exchanges data with a wireless access node associated with the target cell over the preferred operating frequency band to establish a packet data unit session comprising the slice service type.

A wireless User Equipment (UE) selects wireless communication networks. The wireless UE wirelessly receives and processes a broadcast block that comprises a cell identifier for a wireless access point, wireless communication network identifiers, and network selection information that individually characterizes the wireless communication networks.
