Abstract:
A method and apparatus that enables a user to store event information while watching a television broadcast is disclosed. The event information is transmitted to a server, preferably via the Internet. Based on the event information, the server determines which program the user was watching when the event information was stored, and the time within that program. Based on the determined program and time, the server determines an assortment of goods and services that were displayed on the users television when the event information was stored. This assortment is presented to the user, preferably via the Internet.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for deriving performance statistics from real time tracking of a sporting event. The method according to the present invention includes a step of obtaining a spatio-temporal trajectory corresponding to the motion of an athlete and based on real time tracking of the athlete. The trajectory is then broken down so that performance information corresponding to the motion of the athlete (such as speed, distance covered, acceleration, etc. ) can be derived with respect to time. The information so obtained can be stored in a database or the like for later retrieval or can be used to graphically supplement a video broadcast of a sporting event. The apparatus includes a device for obtaining the trajectory, a computational device for obtaining the performance information based on the obtained trajectory, and a statistical device for compiling the performance information. In particular, the spatio-temporal trajectory may be obtained by an operation on a video image of the sporting event, in which motion regions in the image are identified, and feature points on the regions are tracked as they move, thereby defining feature paths. The feature paths, in turn, are associated in clusters, which clusters generally correspond to the motion of some portion of the athlete (e. g.
Integrated Television And Internet Information System
A method and apparatus that enables a user to store or indicate event information while watching a television broadcast is disclosed. The event information is transmitted to a server, preferably via the Internet, either in batches or in real-time. Based on the event information, the server determines which program the user was watching when the event information was stored or indicated, and the time within that program. Based on the determined program and time, the server determines an assortment of goods and services that were displayed on the users television when the event information was stored. This assortment is presented to the user, preferably via the Internet.

Abstract:
Techniques for indexing multimedia data substantially concurrently or contemporaneously with its capture to convert a real world event into an accessible database in real time are provided. The present invention introduces a new paradigm of converting a real world event in real time into a rich multimedia database by processing data from multiple sensors observing the event. Real time analysis of the sensor data, coupled with domain knowledge, results in instant indexing of multimedia data at capture time itself. This yields the semantic information to answer complex queries about the content, and the ability to extract portions of data that correspond to complex actions performed in the real world.

Abstract:
A call center apparatus for automatically bridging a mobile user (e. g. , a supervisor, etc. ) into an existing conversation between a telephone operator and a caller is disclosed. The illustrative embodiments bridge the mobile user into the conversation of the closest telephone operator for which the mobile user has bridging authority.
Performance Data Mining Based On Real Time Analysis Of Sensor Data
A performance data mining system combines detailed sensor analysis data with other data sources to discover interesting patterns/rules for performance and utilizes real time sensor analysis to dynamically derive mining results in real time during an event. The system automatically generates advice/strategy and predictions based on specified criteria.

Abstract:
Techniques for intelligent and automatic control of sensors for capturing data associated with real time events. Preferably, the sensors are associated with a multimedia database system. For example, a technique for controlling one or more sensors used to capture data associated with an event comprises the following steps/operations. First, sensor data captured in accordance with the event is processed. Then, the one or more sensors are automatically controlled based on information pertaining to the continual activity of at least one of one or more objects and one or more persons associated with the event in real time obtained using at least a portion of the processed data captured in accordance with the event.

Abstract:
The present invention is a system for accessing applications from even the most basic Instant Message (IM) enabled mobile device. The system utilizes the IM infrastructure of a mobile device to deliver application interfaces and manage the user experience. The invention is particularly applicable to applications with graphical user interfaces (GUI), even typical desktop or web applications. The system performs a direct transformation of application user interfaces into an IM messaging model with minimal functional distortions. The users own application knowledge and experience is leveraged, reducing application customization in the system architecture. The system also incorporates presence-driven mechanisms in the architecture.
