Abstract:

An air journal bearing for a rotatable shaft of a turbomachine includes a journal sleeve having an inner cylindrical surface and a central axis defining longitudinal and radial directions, a top foil disposed radially inboard of the journal sleeve and configured to receive the rotatable shaft, and a bump foil disposed between the top foil and the journal sleeve and configured to bias at least a portion of the top foil against an outer surface of the rotatable shaft. At least one of the bump foil and a radially extending segment of the top foil is formed contiguous with the inner cylindrical surface. The journal sleeve, the top foil and the bump foil may be formed as a single piece made of selectively sintered ceramic-metal powder.

Abstract:

A filter dryer functions bypass system in a vapor cycle machine includes a refrigerant filter/dryer receiving a flow of liquid refrigerant from an inlet line and expelling the liquid refrigerant to an outlet line. A bypass line interconnects the inlet line and the outlet line and a bypass valve is configured to divert a portion or all of the flow of liquid refrigerant from the inlet line into the bypass line. A condition sensor provides a status signal indicative of refrigerant filter dryer condition and the bypass valve is operable responsive to the status signal.

Abstract:

A modular pipeline for event management in a computer environment is provided to enable the high volume of events that may be relevant to the security and stability of that environment to be gathered and analyzed for relevancy in a lower volume format. The modular pipeline enables event collection to meet various use cases so that the data comprising the events may be held and transmitted in a reduced volume format so that the relevancy of the events, rather than the events themselves, may be used by various systems with less transmission overhead and greater responsiveness. Aspects of the modular pipeline streamline and optimize the performance of a computing device within a network environment and provide for additional analytics of that environment.

Abstract:

Systems and methods of pre-fetching data for applications in a computer system that are terminated or suspended and may be pre-launched by the computer system are disclosed. The applications may employ data that is remote from the computer system and available from a third party content resource. A method for pre-fetching such remote data comprises associating a set of application with such data and/or its location; determining a set of pre-fetching conditions, determining which applications may be pre-fetched and pre-fetching the data, if pre-fetch conditions meet a desired pre-fetch policy. A predictive module or technique may be used to identify those applications which may be pre-launched. The present system may comprise a pre-fetch success module capable of measuring the success data for a current pre-fetch and associating such success data with an application to improve future pre-fetches.
