Abstract:

A platform and launch initiation control system for secondary spacecraft for a launch vehicle includes an aluminum honeycomb core sandwiched between top and bottom structural aluminum skins and strengthened by a spider-like stiffener. Spool inserts for engaging the secondary spacecraft are arranged on the platform. A computer processor based auxiliary payload support unit (APSU) is provided on the platform and receives power and enable signals through a single cable from the LV to permit the APSU to control the release of the secondary spacecraft transparently to the LV without impacting LV operations.

Abstract:

A plastic box includes a top and a tray that may be locked together. The top has two open sides to save material. The top can have drain holes along its edges, and the tray likewise has drain holes along its edges, so that when the tray of one container is stacked on the top of another container, water in the top container can drain down and through the bottom container.

Abstract:

The box is easily assembled by hand, is suitable for construction out of plastic materials, and can be produced at relatively low cost. The box includes an elongated wrap panel with a plurality of flat surfaces formed by folding at lateral creases. The flat surfaces include a bottom surface and two flat surfaces forming a top wherein the two flat surfaces are adjacent to the lateral edges of the wrap panel. Each of the two sides of the box are formed from a plurality of flat surfaces. The box also includes two end panels, each with a plurality of tabs which engage with the box sides and each end panel having a horizontal slit extending there through. The bottom surface of the box includes a locking tab at each end. The locking tab includes a pair of hinged portions permitting the locking tab to fold inward wherein a portion of the bottom surface between the pair of hinged portions forms a flat support tab that is formed by a slit in the locking tab. The locking tab also includes a first generally U-shaped portion and a second generally U-shaped portion extending outward from the first U-shaped portion and hingingly attached to the first U-shaped portion.
