Published Works: Dos Idiomas, Una Meta, Author, March 10, 2008 • Wrote an article for the Spanish news source, La Oferta, discussing the benefits of bilingual education at the primary level. • The article also addressed the accomplishments and setbacks of different proposed systems of bilingual education as well as suggested a new program that would best adapt to the current influx of immigrants. Encuentro Fundraising Grant, Author, Spring 2007 • Researched and wrote a grant for the SCU event, Encuentro (Finding), that attempted to communicate the experiences of community immigrants and their journeys to America. • Attained a $1,000 grant from the SCU Multicultural Center to support the costs of Encuentro.
