Abstract:
A technique is provided for generating one or more XML documents from a single SQL query. Data stored on a data storage device that is connected to a computer is transformed. A query is received that selects data stored in a relational database management system on the data storage device, wherein a data access definition defines: (1) a collection of one or more tables in the relational database management system for storing attributes from an XML document, (2) how data stored in the tables maps to the XML document, (3) a query for mapping the data stored in the tables to the XML document, and (4) a table that will contain the XML document after the XML document is generated. Then, one or more XML documents are generated from the selected data using the data access definition.

Abstract:
A technique is provided to store fragmented XML data into a relational database by decomposing XML documents with application specific mappings. Data stored on a data store that is connected to a computer is transformed. Initially, an XML document containing XML data is received. A document access definition that identifies one or more relational tables and columns is received. The XML data is mapped from the application DTD to the relational tables and columns using the document access definition by generating a first document object model tree using the XML document, generating a second document object model tree using the document access definition, and mapping the data from the first document object model tree into columns in one or more relational rabies using the second document object model tree.
Electronically Tunable Rf Diplexers Tuned By Tunable Capacitors
A diplexer includes a first tunable bandpass filter connected to a first port, a second tunable bandpass filter connected to a second port, and a coupling element for coupling the first bandpass filter and the second bandpass filter to a third port. Each of the tunable bandpass filters includes a tunable capacitor, wherein a control signal applied to the tunable capacitor controls the transmission characteristic of the filter. The tunable capacitor can be a tunable dielectric varactor or a microelectromechanical variable capacitor. The coupling element can include one of: a circulator, a T-junction, and an orthomode transducer. Each of the first and second filters can comprise a fin line filter including a plurality of tunable dielectric capacitors mounted within a waveguide for controlling the filter transmission characteristics. Fixed bandpass filters can be inserted between each of the tunable bandpass filters and the coupling element.

Abstract:
A technique is provided for creating metadata for fast search of XML documents stored as column data. Data is stored in a data store connected to a computer. A main table is created in a relational database management system, wherein the main table has a column for storing an extensible markup language (XML) document in a native XML format One or more side tables are created in the relational database management system, wherein each side table has one or more columns that store one or more attributes extracted from die XML document for fast searching of the XML document. Thereafter, the side tables are used to locate data in the main table.

Abstract:
An optical alignment device holds fiber collimators in place with extremely good mechanical and environmental stability. The device includes a ball with a hole traversing the ball, an upper clamping block with a first inner concave spherical surface and a lower clamping block with a second inner concave spherical surface. The hole includes a shape that can accommodate or contact an optical component whose alignment is to be controlled. The ball, together with the enclosed optical component is firmly held between the first and second inner concave surfaces of the clamping blocks, which are tightened against the ball with screws. When firmly clamped within the concave surfaces, the ball is prevented from accidental movement but can still rotate about any axis to align the optical component. Once alignment is achieved, the optical component and the ball are secured in place by epoxy, glue, solder or other suitable adhesive.

A technique is provided for generating one or more XML documents from a relational database using the XPath data model. Data stored on a data storage device that is connected to a computer is transformed. Initially, a document object model tee is generated using a document access definition, which defines the mapping between an XML tree structure and relational tables. The document object model tree is traversed to obtain information to retrieve relational data. The relational data is mapped to one or more XML documents.

Abstract:
In photolithographic exposure, a feature () of an optical mask is projected onto a dark area (). The light intensity inside the dark area is reduced by providing a non-printable clear cutout () inside the feature. The optical mask has the same optical pathlength outside the feature () adjacent to the entire outer boundary of the feature as at the cutout, the optical pathlength being measured along the optical mask's thickness.

Abstract:
Translation of uniform resource locators (URLs). A URL is received, in a computer system and from a computer device, referring to a resource managed by a first application in the computer system, for which resource the computer system uses an internal URL. A first rule set is selected from among multiple rule sets assigned to a respective one of multiple applications, based on the first rule set being assigned to the first application. At least a portion of the URL is matched with a rule in the first rule set identifying an internal URL portion as corresponding to the portion of the URL. The internal URL portion is included in a translated URL, wherein a second rule set identifies another internal URL portion as corresponding to the portion of the URL. At least part of the resource is forwarded to the computing device.
