Abstract:
Provided is a surface having metal regions and an interstitial region having a composition that differs from the metal regions, wherein a continuous gel layer coats the surface across the metal regions and the interstitial regions. Nucleic acids or other analytes can be attached to the continuous gel layer such that a greater amount is attached over the metal regions than over the interstitial region. Also provided are methods for making such surfaces. Methods are also provided for making an array of nucleic acids or other analytes using such surfaces.

Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a set of partitions containing records spanning a time interval, wherein the records include a set of values for a metric and a set of dimensions associated with the set of values. For each dimensional subset associated with the set of dimensions, the system aggregates, based on the set of partitions, a corresponding subset of values for the metric into a distribution-based representation of the metric. The system then stores a dictionary encoding of the dimensional subset in association with the distribution-based representation of the metric. Finally, the system calculates, based on the distribution-based representation, one or more quantiles associated with the dimensional subset and outputs the quantile(s) for use in characterizing a distribution of the metric.
Method And System For Encryption Using A Radio Frequency Fingerprint
Aspects of the present disclosure include methods, apparatus, and computer readable medium for storing encrypted data including receiving a radio frequency signal and data to be encrypted, identifying a radio frequency fingerprint of the signal, generating a numerical representation of the radio frequency fingerprint, generating an encryption key using at least a portion of the representation, encrypting the data using the encryption key, and storing the encrypted data.
Interaction With Physical Objects As Proxy Objects Representing Virtual Objects
Systems and techniques for enabling interaction with physical objects as proxy objects representing virtual objects are provided herein. Virtual reality application data associated with a virtual reality application executed on a virtual reality device, a first virtual reality object data associated with a first virtual reality object from the virtual reality application, and virtual reality event data associated with one or more events from the virtual reality application may be received. Robotic arms including a robotic hand may grasp a first physical object which corresponds to the first virtual reality object of the virtual reality application. Sensors may detect a user interaction with the first physical object. Force feedback instructions commanding the robotic arms to move while maintaining grasp of the first physical object may be generated and executed based on detecting the user interaction with the first physical object and based on the virtual reality event data.

Abstract:
Example super-resolution microscopy systems are described herein that are configured for relatively high throughput. The disclosed microscopy systems can be to generate an array of sub-diffraction activated areas for imaging. The microscopy systems can be to utilize imaging techniques that employ time delay integration to build up super-resolution images over time. The disclosed microscopy systems can utilize long-lived fluorophores in conjunction with wide field and patterned illumination to generate super-resolution images of a sample with relatively high throughput.

Abstract:
A photographic image replacement system includes an imaging device having an imager that performs imaging, a communicator that performs communication with a server, and a controller that controls the communicator such that an image that includes a registered target among images captured by the imager is transmitted to the server, and the server provides the image received from the imaging device to a device used by a user who is related to the registration.
