Fluent in all components of financial aid and the aid process with any audience in both private and public sector. Currently use Naviance for student document submission, communication with students and families, task assignments, and journaling of all college counseling meetings, emails and phone conversations. Attended Naviance Summer Institute in July of 2013. Independently tour colleges annually to personally connect with admissions teams, and investigate student support services. Attend NACAC conference annually to maintain best practices, gain new perspective on college counseling position, network with college admissions counselors and college counseling peers and attend workshops to enhance professional development. Maintain awareness and appropriate path and placement for students best suited in vocational/CTE training. Constanty read education related articles to maintain knowledge of current education policy and developments: Chronicle of Higher Education, State of College Admission, Inside Higher Ed, White papers. Maintain knowledge of current education policies/debates through NPR/ weekly publications announcing current issues on floor activity, current legislative rules, legislation and executive orders.
