  • International Classification:
    G06F 17/00
  • US Classification:
    707104100
  • Abstract:
The system and methods disclosed herein validate the authenticity of a document and an individual's claimed identity. The system and method use a validation facility that is configurable to compare and match characteristics of biometric and non-biometric data presented by an individual with biometric and non-biometric data received from a request to a database or file system holding such information. The determination on the matching characteristics of the data can occur in completely automated fashion without intervention from the user, but user intervention is also possible allowing the user to review and override certain data discrepancies. The validation facility provides a user interface for use by a user to review a determination on the data analysis and instruct the validation facility to override that determination if the user determines the cause of the identity verification failure is within an acceptable criterion.

  • Abstract:
This invention describes a method for operating a weapon targeting system comprising the steps of using a laser to fire a single pulse at a target to obtain a reflected laser pulse; detecting the reflected laser pulse as a signal by a SWIR focal plane; detecting background illumination by using the SWIR focal plane; scene clutter filter and using optical filtering if it is necessary to suppress background illumination.

  • International Classification:
    G06T 5/50
    G09G 5/02
    G06T 5/00
  • Abstract:
A system for two color image fusion blending co-registered low light level images in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum with thermal infrared images maximizes the information content of the scene by detecting in which of the two image types, IR and visible, there is more structural information and increasing the weight of the pixels in the image type having the most structural information. Additionally, situational awareness is increased by categorizing image information as “scene” or “target” and colorizing the target images to highlight target features when raw IR values are above a predetermined threshold. The system utilizes Red, Green and Blue (RGB) planes to convey different information such that for targets the Red plane is used to colorize regions when raw IR exceeds the predetermined threshold. For scene images, the Green plane provides improved situational awareness due to the above weighted blend of the two image types.

  • Inventors:
    - Nashua NH, US
Mark R. Mallalieu - Westford MA, US
  • Assignee:
BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc. - Nashua NH
  • International Classification:
    G06T 7/00
  • US Classification:
    348164
  • Abstract:
A method for correlating an image to align two sensors comprising the steps of centering an imaging unit on a landmark that provides good contrast and distinct edges so as to provide a scene, taking a snapshot of the scene from both sensors, applying a Sobel edge filter to the image from both sensors to create two strong edge maps, cropping a small block of one image centered about the landmark and cross-correlating it on a larger region centered on an expected position of the landmark in the other image, and from the position of the strongest correlation peak determining the position of the center of the block from the first image, providing the difference in the alignment of the two sensors.
