Been working in the visual media for over twenty-five years, I have been published internationally and exhibited in major cities around the world. Originally from the Netherlands, where I attended the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam, I lived in the USA since the early 1980's. I traveled all over Europe, Africa, Latin America and the former USSR, resulting in solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Havana, and Amsterdam. Highlights of the past decade include trips to Cuba and Argentina, where fifty of my photographs were exhibited at the famous Palais de Glace (Palacio Nacional de Las Artes) in Buenos Aires (2008). Over 10.000 people came to see the exhibition, which received extensive coverage and critical acclaim in the Argentinean media. Won several awards and commendations (PDN Award 1996, International Photography Awards 2004). Commercial work includes portraiture, fashion, product photography and architectural/interior design. I enjoy shooting medium as well as large format (4x5”) film, but with the digital revolution, most of my work is shot with Nikon DSLRs. Photoshop added a new dimension to my work, especially for color control - I mostly print my own work. I am married to a beautiful Argentinean eye doctor, her name is Carolina and if ever my pictures are out of focus she can fix me up.
