Abstract:
A pump includes a piston block defining piston bores, and pistons disposed in the piston bores. A swash device defines a swash bore about a swash central axis (C) and a swash rotation axis (C). A pivotal connection pivotally connects each of the pistons to the swash device for rotation about a connection pivot point during relative movement between the swash device and the piston. The connection pivot points are aligned in a plane (P). A shaft supported by the housing passes through the swash bore and defines a shaft central axis (C). A hinge assembly pivotally supports the swash device about a hinge axis (C) disposed on the opposite side of the plane (P) from the piston block. The swash rotation axis (C) of the swash device is offset from the plane (P) away from the hinge axis (C) and is radially offset from the swash center axis in a direction toward the hinge axis (C).

Abstract:
An internal heat exchanger assembly for an air conditioning system, having a substantial cylindrical cavity in which a helical coil tube is coaxially disposed within the cylindrical cavity. A bleed valve assembly is incorporated into the helical coiled tube, in which the bleed valve assembly is adapted to open at a predetermined differential pressure between the high pressure side and low pressure side of the internal heat exchanger. The bleed valve selectively bleeds refrigerant from the high pressure side to the low pressure side, thereby increasing the pressure and mass flow rate of the refrigerant to the suction side of a compressor to reduce or eliminate compressor rattle.
An improved reed type compressor discharge valve assembly uses a conventional reed and reed stop, but increases flow efficiency past the reed with a uniquely configured valve plate. The valve plate has a round discharge port of conventional size and diameter, but the surface of the valve plate beneath the reed is formed with a recessed channel that opens into the near edge of the port. This provides a more open and less restricted flow path out of the port, and creates an effectively greater opening height for the reed.
