An Ocean Springs native, Pamela Weaver graduated the University of Southern Mississippi with degrees in both mass communication and political science. Pamela is a former anchor and news reporter at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, recognized by the Associated Press for Best Newscast and Best Spot News Story.
Mississippi's top elections officer, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, did not predict how many people will vote Tuesday. His spokeswoman, Pamela Weaver, said about 29,500 absentee ballots were requested. That's up from about 18,000 before the June 3 primaries.

Texas voter ID ruling's impact on Mississippi unclear
Pamela Weaver, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, said officials in her office, who have been busy monitoring Hurricane Isaac, would study the ruling to see if it might have an impact on Mississippi's law.
Although Gyamfi told Hosemann when the two spoke last week her comments were taken out of context, "he wasn't given any further information during the conversation," his spokeswoman Pamela Weaver said Tuesday evening.
