Abstract:

The present invention provides an improved lock water purifier and method. In a presently preferred embodiment a floating salt housing is provided to produce a high salt concentration salt brine within the salt housing. A plurality of metallic probes are removably positioned within the salt housing. The metallic probes are preferably not connected to a power source but rather react within the salt brine to produce metallic ions. A channel is provided whereby the metallic ions can flow into the body of water. The number of metallic probes can be controlled to thereby control the amount of metallic ions produced. As well, moveable gates can be utilized to control the flow of metallic ions into the body of water. In a preferred embodiment, a chlorine generator is also provided which comprises a power source, preferably a solar power source, which supplies power to a plurality of cell plates. The powered cell plates react with the salt brine to produce chlorine atoms that are channeled into the body of water with the metallic ions.

Abstract:

The present invention provides an improved water purifier and method. In one possible embodiment, the present invention provides a turbine mounted in or to piping of a pool or spa filtering system. The turbine comprises one or more rotatable elements such as fins, paddles, blades, propellers, or the like which are responsive to water flow through the piping to produce rotation. The rotatable element may comprise magnets which rotate along with the rotatable element to produce a rotating magnetic field. The rotating magnetic field may be utilized for generating electricity utilizing various types of electric power generators. Electricity so produced may be utilized to power a water purification unit such as a chlorine generator, UV generator, or an ozone generator. In one embodiment, the output of the water purification unit is directed into turbulence, such as turbulence produced by the rotatable element, so that the purification efficiency is enhanced.

Abstract:

Salt and potassium compound may be reacted in a swimming pool or other body of water to be sanitized and/or cell plates may be utilized. NaCl may also be added to the mix to produce a shock formulation. The swimming pool or other water may already contain salt brine with sufficient concentration of salt. The delivery method of KHSOmay include broadcasting, dispensing, or other means. In fresh water pools the salt may also be added for this purpose, such as within a canister or other vessel, wherein a local reaction products of the cell plate and/or potassium compound may be dispensed to create a desired chlorine level in the water for sanitizing. For sanitizing with metal ions, the potassium compound and salt and/or cell plates may be utilized to create a reaction with elemental transitional metals and/or alloys thereof.

Abstract:

A deck mounted chlorine generator is shown that is preferably powered by use of a solar array panel. The cell plate housing can be supported by a plurality of swivel members that are locked into a position that conforms to the edge of a pool. The cell plate housing utilizes flow directing outlets to direct chlorine out of the housing. An opening such as a drawer is provided in the cell plate housing to permit salt to be poured into the housing around the electrodes to increase chlorine output.
