Abstract:

A computer implemented method for automated content-based processing of FIX messages to facilitate the selective delivery of Financial Information eXchange (FIX) messages, includes: receiving a FIX message; for each of a plurality of subscription filters received from a client computer, calculating a True/False (T/F) value indicating whether the FIX message satisfies the subscription filter, where each subscription filter indicates FIX message content of interest; storing the T/F values for the plurality of subscription filters in a T/F array; and returning the T/F array to the client computer. The T/F array is an array of elements, where each element corresponds to a subscription filter. Once the client computer receives the T/F array, the client computer uses the array to determine to which subscribers the FIX message is to be sent. In this manner, the method facilitates the selective delivery of FIX messages by the client computer.

Abstract:

The invention calculates an American option value by: creating a discrete approximation for a self-convolving probability distribution with a pre-determined number of points; creating a discrete approximation of a delta function for one entry of value 1 at a current time; creating probability distributions of returns for a stock underlying the option, for a plurality of times from a current time through an expiry for the option; calculating a probability distribution for a value for the option at expiry; and doing a series of reverse convolutions of the self-convolving distribution with each probability distribution of returns for the stock underlying the option, starting with the probability distribution for the return of the stock at the expiry, and obtaining the current value for the option.

A trash dumpster includes one or more transition elements, e.g., one or more safety ramps, which span from the above-ground dumpster bed adjacent to a side or end opening of the dumpster to the ground or other external surface when the ramp is deployed into an operating position. The ramp provides a step-free pathway extending between the interior bottom surface of the container and the external surface on which a person may more safely carry, wheelbarrow, or drive debris into the dumpster. The ramp may be integral to the dumpster bed, or may be removably attached so as to allow stowage in a compartment located underneath or on the side of the dumpster when not in use.

A method for displaying text of an e-book on an electronic media reader is disclosed. The method includes reading a rate setting that may be input by a user via a human input device. The method further includes reading a magnified text size setting input by the user via a human input device. The method further includes displaying on the electronic media reader a page of the e-book at a first text size that may be smaller than the magnified text size. The method further includes sequentially displaying subsequent words or groups of words of the page of the e-book at the magnified text size and at the rate, wherein only one word or one group of words may be displayed at the magnified text size at one time.

Abstract:

An improved exercise mat and method comprises opposed ends and opposed sides, and folding member means to extend the mat laterally from at least one of the sides while that folding member is attached to, or contiguous with, the side of the mat. When a user wants to extend the folding member away from the mat, increased surface area creates additional areas to protect the user from touching the floor or ground. If additional surface area is not needed for an exercise, the folding member can be folded inward of, and overlying flatly, the mat thus effectively increasing it thickness, and providing additional cushioning to the user.
