Abstract:
A PTT bridging gateway between a first PTT system and a second disparate PTT system: receives an invitation to a first client to join a first group call for a first group comprising multiple member clients on the first PTT system, wherein the first client is one of the member clients of the first group; determines that the first client is mapped to a second group comprising multiple member clients on the second PTT system; and initiates a second group call to the multiple member clients on the second PTT system.
Changing Access Point (Ap) Device Type Based On Connectivity To A Network

US Classification:

Abstract:
Techniques are provided for determining whether a particular Access Point (AP) is to be designated as an Infrastructure Access Point (IAP) or a Backhaul Mesh Access Point (BMAP) based on the connectivity of the particular AP to a network which includes at least one multicast heartbeat message (MCHBM) source. Techniques are provided which can allow an Infrastructure Access Point (IAP) to change its device type to a Backhaul Mesh Access Point (BMAP) device type when the IAP determines that connectivity to the network is lost. Other techniques are provided which can allow a Backhaul Mesh Access Point (BMAP) to change its device type to an Infrastructure Access Point (IAP) device type when the BMAP determines that connectivity to the network is established.

Abstract:
Critical resource data () required for a group call can be identified. Controlling () and secondary () PTT communications systems can communicate using an expanded network-to-network interface (NNI) (). Allocation of identified critical resources () can be requested () for the group call from the secondary PTT communications system (). In response to a successful allocation of the requested critical resources by the secondary PTT communications system, the group call can be authorized by the controlling PTT communications system (). The allocated critical resources of the secondary PTT communications system () can be used to establish the group call.

Abstract:
A centralized quality of service (QoS) entity having a processing device performs a method for managing QoS settings for group communications. The method includes: determining a plurality of active participants of a group communication session; and determining, for each active participant, an individual QoS setting, including a first individual QoS setting for a first active participant. The method further includes modifying the first individual QoS setting based on the individual QoS setting for at least one other active participant, wherein the modified first individual QoS setting is applied to a session leg used by the first active participant during the group communication session. The active participants of the group communication session can be on the same or heterogeneous wireless networks.
Secure Ad Hoc Communication Systems And Methods Across Heterogeneous Systems

A method for rapid peer-to-peer link establishment among a set of mobile devices includes operating a first second device, advertising system attributes in a wireless beacon by the second device, receiving the system attributes from the wireless beacon at the first device, comparing the system attributes to a service needed by the first device, and, if the second device is compatible based on the comparing, establishing a wireless link by the first device to the second device. A system and wireless device for rapid peer-to-peer link establishment among a set of mobile devices are also described.
