Abstract:
In accordance with the present disclosure, an icemaker combination assembly is provided and comprises a refrigerator having a freezer compartment and a fresh food compartment. The freezer compartment can have a freezer door assembly and the fresh food compartment can have a fresh food door assembly. The icemaker combination further comprises a first icemaker having a first ice cube storage bin disposed within the freezer compartment and a second icemaker having a second ice cube storage bin disposed within the fresh food compartment. The first and second icemakers having a production activation level selected from the group consisting of the first icemaker active only, the second icemaker active only, the first and the second icemakers both active, and the first and the second icemakers both inactive. The first and second icemakers can selectively and simultaneously produce and independently store ice.

Abstract:
A refrigerator wall has an outer shell an inner liner, a cavity formed by the outer shell and the inner liner, insulation filling the cavity, and a vacuum insulation panel positioned in the cavity such that at least one edge of the vacuum insulation panel is located in a substantially maximum volume of insulation.
System And Process For Identifying And Updating Tuning Constants
A process is disclosed for determining tuning constants of a process control loop, the loop including a process control module, an actuator and a controlled process. The disclosed process includes making a series of changes to the target value of the actuator while measuring corresponding changes in the output of the controlled process. Certain calculations are applied to the information to determine the tuning constants, and the constants are applied to the control module.

Abstract:
A self contained fixed rotating disk expansion board subsystem may be installed and connected at an expansion slot location of a host computer. The subsystem includes an enclosed head/disk assembly, and circuit elements mounted on a printed circuit board which includes a connector for connecting to the control, data and address buses of the host computer at the expansion slot location. The head/disk assembly is mounted to a mounting substrate which may be the circuit board or which may be a frame to which the circuit board is also attached. Input/output routines are preferably provided to enable the host computer to make use of the subsystem without software driver modifications in the host operating system.

Abstract:
A micro-Winchester disk drive subsystem includes a data block sequencer, cache memory and interface for a host computing machine. The drive includes a base and a plurality of non-removable directly rotated disks forming data storage surfaces. A balanced rotary head transducer actuator is mounted to the base for a plurality of data transducer heads among a multiplicity of concentric data tracks formed on each data storage surface of each of the disks. The track following servo system includes a position encoder coupled between the actuator structure and the base, prerecorded data track centerline information at a radially outermost region and at a radially innermost region of each data surface, and a temperature sensor for sensing temperature of the base at the vicinity of the position encoder. An actuator driver circuit is connected to supply electrical driving current to the actuator structure; and, a single, time divided multi-tasked digital including an analog to digital converter is connected to receive the position information from the position encoder, centerline information from the disk surfaces read by the data transducer and temperature sensed by the temperature sensor during a calibration operation in one phase of its operational cycle, the other phase being devoted to supervision data block handling functions of disk drive data block sequencer cache memory and interface. During track following operations, centerline information is derived from information obtained in the calibrate operation.
Method For Controlling The Thickness Or Weight Of Extruded Stock
An extruding system for the production of continuously extruded elastomer, such as tread stock for the manufacture of vehicle tires, has an extruder, a first take-away conveyor belt for conveying the extrusion as it exits the extruder, a second conveyor belt for varying the thickness or weight of the extrusion after leaving the first conveyor belt, a sensor to measure the running-weigh-scale value and a targeted running-weigh-scale value. The weight or thickness of the continuously extruded elastomer is controlled by measuring the weight of the continuous extrusion at the running-weigh-scale. The measured value is compared to the target value to obtain a control signal. The control signal is used to adjust the difference in speed between the first conveyor belt and the second conveyor belt.
Method And Apparatus To Control The Density Of Products Produced From An Extrusion Process
Density of products produced from a foam extrusion process is controlled by measuring the thickness and the basis weight. The density is calculated and is compared to a target, or desired value, to produce an error signal. The error signal is used to control the density.

Abstract:
An aerodynamically released safety shipping latch for a rotating disk data storage device is disclosed. A moveable airvane means adjacent a rotating disk is deflected by airflow generated by disk rotation from an at-rest biased first position to a second position. A safety latch communicating with the airvane means releases the data transducer carriage from a landing zone position when the airvane means moves to the second position in response to airflow from disk rotation.
