Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer-cellulosic fiber composition comprising a polymer, a cellulosic fiber, and a quaternary ammonium alkyl salt wherein the latter imparts antimicrobial properties to the composition and functions as a lubricant during the formation of the composition. The quaternary ammonium alkyl salts may be alkyl carboxylate, alkyl sulfate, alkyl sulphonate, alkyl phosphate, or alkyl phosphite. Certain of the salts are new compositions of matter. The method of extruding and the extrudate are also claimed.
Mold-Inhibiting Method And Composition Comprising Dehydroacetic Acid Or Salt Thereof
Disclosed is a method for inhibiting the growth of mold on building materials by application onto and/or incorporation into the building material of a mold-inhibiting composition comprising dehydroacetic acid or a salt thereof and, optionally, an additional fungicidal agent such as a quaternary ammonium compound. A preferred application of the method is the inhibition of mold growth on plasterboard (drywall).

Abstract:
The present invention herein provides a disinfectant composition containing a) an effective amount of a hydrogen peroxide source, b) a blend of at least one aromatic alcohol and at least one glycol or glycol ether, c) at least one nonionic and/or anionic surfactant and d) at least one acid. Furthermore a method of using the disinfectant composition is also provided, whereby the composition can be applied to any surface and effectively kill a majority of tuberculosis and/or microbes; resulting in a >5 log reduction at a contact time of 5 minutes or less.
The present disclosure is directed to a wiping composition. The composition contains a quaternary ammonium compound in a concentration sufficient to have antimicrobial efficacy. In order to reduce streaking and/or film formation during use of the wiping composition, the composition further contains a residue reducing surfactant. In one embodiment, the residue-reducing surfactant comprises a betaine surfactant.

The first biocide may comprise an isothiazolin. The second biocide may comprise a pyrithione. The biocide enhancing agent may comprise an amine, an amine salt, an amine oxide, or mixtures thereof. The amine compound may have a carbon chain length of at least six carbon atoms, such as at least eight carbon atoms.
